Docs Ireland 4 - Open for Submissions!

Docs Ireland is back and will be on Wednesday 10 June – Sunday 14 June 2020

Docs Ireland is an annual dynamic programme of events showcasing the Irish documentary industry, run by the team behind Belfast Film Festival, and chaired by award winning internationally renowned documentary film maker, Mark Cousins. Docs Ireland will screen high quality documentaries that will inspire, educate and enliven cultural discourse. More than ever, documentary is the medium which helps us make sense of the strange times we are living through. After a brilliantly successful first edition we’re back in 2020 for round 2!

The 2nd Docs Ireland will present new and international documentaries, shorts and features, and will host industry events including a marketplace, pitching sessions, masterclasses, new talent focus and funding information events.

If you are a filmmaker and would like to attend our Doc Market or submit a film for consideration here are the dates you need to know.

Marketplace is an opportunity for filmmakers to meet with top decision makers including international funders, broadcasters, distributors and exhibitors on a one to one basis. The Doc Market will be a hub for funding, sales and distribution of documentaries in Ireland and globally, and an incubator for nurturing domestic talent so that our industry can continue to thrive in the future.

Marketplace is the only marketplace dedicated to documentary on the island of Ireland and will provide an opportunity for filmmakers to pitch their project through carefully match made meetings organised by the Doc Fest Ireland team.

The deadline for application is Friday 17 April 2020. Your idea must be long form (50 minutes +) and you must have at least one TV / digital / theatrical credit in documentary, although this can include shorter form.
