HIRING! Social Media Coordinator

Docs Ireland is Ireland’s international documentary film festival. It celebrates the best of new international documentary filmmaking, and showcases the work of Ireland’s indigenous non-fiction culture and creatives.

We are looking for an experienced individual to assist the marketing team with our Docs Ireland 2024 social media campaign and general social media as required over the time period.

The position will be fixed term for seven weeks (from 6th May 2024) on a three day week basis leading up to festival and then cover the festival dates (18th – 23rd June).

The position will be hybrid – 2 days office based and 1 day flexible.

REQUIREMENTS

The appointed person will be required to:

  • Develop a bank of social media content using festival marketing assets.
  • Work with marketing team to agree key messaging, campaign language and content etc.
  • Develop, post and manage organic and paid social media content across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Alongside the marketing team develop, post and manage social media content and advertising calendar to include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and TikTok to successfully target key audiences.
  • Coordinate a small social media team during festival week to provide coverage of festival events throughout the festival week.
  • Develop and manage short form video/ photography content to support the campaign.
  • Regularly liaise with the marketing team to ensure that the campaign aligns with and compliments ongoing organisational marketing, communications and box office sales.
  • Regularly participate in creative discussions within the marketing team re social media output.

CRITERIA

The successful candidate must:

  • Demonstrate proven track record of experience delivering successful social media campaigns
  • be available from week beginning 6th May
  • be available to attend the festival events (18th – 23rd June)
  • be internet savvy. You must also have good interpersonal and marketing skills.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess in-depth understanding of social media platforms and scheduling tools
  • Give attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Preferably but not essentially have a passion for documentary film & experience of working as part of festival/large scale events.
